SLEEPING IN A HEARSE: While I won’t take credit for the headline… I did write this story on 32-year-old John Lastauska who bought a hearse after being unable to afford a campervan. You can read it here.

SUE DUKE: I covered this story in my second week at the Messenger. The story started off as a tip off about an average crash and then developed into one of the biggest stories of the week after it turned out a learner driver had accidentally ran over her mum.

The story was covered in newspapers, radio and on the television including The Daily Mail, Sky News, The Mirror, The Metro, The Sun and The Independent.

It ended up in nationals again (The Daily Mail, Express, The Sun, Daily Star) a few months later after I covered the inquest into the death of Sue Duke.

UMM, UNIVERSITIES AT MEDWAY MAGAZINE:

I launched Medway’s first student magazine in 2009. Over the year we published multiple editions which mixed light-hearted stories with long features criticising certain aspects of university, including accommodation (see Alan McGuinness’ piece of Peak house and its little problem of prostitution). I edited, designed and photographed the magazine.
